Grammy Award winner, Wizkid and Tems, a passionate Nigerian songbird, have been announced as performers for EssenceFest 2022.
Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, and Tems, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, will be playing at the Essence Festival of Culture with the biggest artists.
Janet Jackson, Nicki Minaj, Kevin Hart, and others will perform alongside the duo. The event will be held in New Orleans from Friday, June 30 through Sunday, July 3rd, 2022.

Essence featuring Tems, from the album ‘Made in Lagos,’ won two awards: Song of the Year and Best African Collaboration. Wizkid was nominated in four categories, with the exception of Album of the Year, which went to Mali’s Iba One.
Fireboy DML, on the other hand, took home the Africans Fan’s Favorite and Best Duo African Hip Hop awards for the single ‘History,’ which he co-wrote with Cheque.
Flavour, who won Best Artiste or Duo in African Dance or Choreography alongside Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz and Congo’s Fally Ipupa, was another Nigerian singer to win at the Afrima Awards 2021.
